One of the cutest/strangest stories I have from traveling is from my Hawaii trip four years ago. Two of my best friends and I went to Oahu for our post-graduation trip, and we had an incredible time. It was absolutely gorgeous and incredible and awe-inspiring.

I still tell this story all the time because I just think it’s so funny.

The first night we were there, we went for a walk down the beach and just enjoyed the scenery, the weather, the water. We found a little rocky area and were taking pictures together with our phones, but we had some trouble getting all of us together and could not take a group picture.

There was a family that was there, and one of them offered to take a picture for us, which was so kind. So we all posed while they took pictures with our phones — and their own cameras.

We didn’t really pay attention to their cameras, and then they gave us our phones back. So we thanked them, and then they came over and asked to take pictures with us.

We were in a group shot with them and I think even a few selfies.

Every now and then, I remember that, and I just start laughing. It was so cute and fun, and they were really lovely people. And now we are immortalized in their computers and photo albums, these three random girls that they didn’t know.

  1. those are what i call “lifetime memories”, because someday, when you are in your sixties, you will think of that time. if you are lucky, you will be able to revisit that spot and take a picture of you and your young family.
